Mozilla Firefox 3.6 and Google Gears Finally Work!
It seems the developers at Google have released 0.5.36.0 of Google Gears which finally works with Mozilla Firefox 3.6′s new policies regarding plugins. A bug was opened for this back in November of 2009, but the latest version of Gears was only just released in the last few days. Google intends to continue supporting Gears, but has made clear HTML5 will be the way of the future.
Until GMail, RememberTheMilk, and WordPress all implement shift over to HTML5, I’ll have to stick with Gears for the time being. That, or switch over to Chrome, which always remains a possibility.
