Stephen Colbert at the White House!

As a loyal Colbertist, I knew Stephen was going to go to the White House and entertain the press corps while in character. That sentence was there for those of you who don’t watch his show religiously :)

BoingBoing is on top of it, and even has a link to a torrent of the act! The Internet is AWESOME.

“Reading”….yeah right

I’ll freely admit I’ve slept in many classes and meetings in my time. Why? Well, I get tired sometimes. Sure it happens to everyone. But I don’t try and play it off or anything. If you catch me, then you catch me.

So look at this picture (courtesy of ABC News):

Cheney sleeping
Now, tell me his ass wasn’t sleeping. He was supposedly “reading his notes”. Yeah, in your eyelids huh? Wow, that’s a pretty pathetic excuse.

No wonder President Hu visited Bill Gates and had dinner with him. You know, like a statesman. Hu only had lunch with Bush. Just lunch.

Apparently President Hu knows where to spend his time.

Yea yea, I realize I’m a few days late on this.  Whatever, I was busy at work :-p

Oh, we barely knew you Scotty

After the new Chief of Staff at the White House mentioned the other day that it was the right time to bail, Scott McClellan decided to resign today.

Sure, every now and again he got ruffled and flustered. Sure, its a hard job. But he was never as much fun as Ari Fleischer, his predecessor (Flickr pics from his talk in Austin). Granted, Ari never had to try and bluff his way through the media debacle known as Iraq either.

Oh yea, and Rove decided to get himself out of the policy business and back into the politics business. Here we go, the start of the midterm elections….

Tom Cruise “I’ll eat placenta”

I thought it was just me being half awake this morning when I saw this on Google News. Then I reread it. Tom Cruise never fails to dumbfound me.

Now everyone go and find the South Park episode about Scientology and watch it to spite him :)

Family Guy game coming for PSP!

Anyone remember the Futurama game for the Xbox from a while back? No you probably don’t because the game sucked pretty bad :-p

Now there’s word that there’s a [tag]Family Guy[/tag] game coming out for the [tag]PSP[/tag]. This could be really good or really bad, depending how its done. The cameos look promising though, with all those characters making an appearance.

Hopefully it’ll be great :)

Xvid on XBox 360

Wow, someone figured out how to get the Xbox 360 to play Xvid content. The [tag]Xbox 360 [/tag] is almost as good as my old school [tag]Xbox[/tag] that’s running [tag]XBMC[/tag].

Ah progress :)

FRONTLINE: the tank man

I just watched this [tag]Frontline[/tag] episode from PBS. Its about the man in the famous picture from [tag]Tiananmen Square[/tag], where he stood in front of a column of tanks. The episode examines what he became, a symbol for the fight for democracy worldwide.

Excellent stuff. This is why [tag]PBS[/tag] is so awesome. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the subject, or [tag]China[/tag] in general.

Paying the iPod tax

When I got my iPod a while back I began using iTunes.  Its one of the better music players I’ve used so far, and after Apple added podcasting to it I’ve been pretty happy.  My problem has always been there’s an expensive stereo in the living room that’s just sitting there usually, hooked up to my iPod and wearing its battery down some.  I used to run a Xitel Hi-Fi link from my Linux box to the stereo, but thats nowhere near as cool as iTunes is for music playing.  So that little piece of tech got sorta dusty…

So I went out today and bought an Airport Express.  Now its linked to my Linksys WRT54G via WDS, streaming music straight from iTunes to my integrated amp.

Mmmmmm, high quality music all the time even when i play XBox or some other video games on the PC.  This is too sweet.

Homeland official arrested for solicitation

Doesn’t that headline just make you feel all warm and fuzzy? Wait, it gets better. He thought he was soliciting a 14 year old girl.

I understand the Internet is a liberating place. But seriously, when was the last time someone on the Internet actually represented themselves truthfully to another? Or maybe I’m just jaded after Friendster and Myspace :-P
