Proof positive that some people are idiots

When I first arrived in Austin about two years ago, I was told by some locals that the city was just like San Fran, but smaller and therefore cooler. I hadn’t been back to San Fran in about 3 years at that point, so I said, hrmm, its possible they might be right. I was pretty sure they weren’t but I gave them the benefit of the doubt.Got into San Fran yesterday. Suitcase was partially open, fortunately, I had a strap around the whole thing to hold it together. I’ll have to score a new one when I get the chance in Austin. Its not a big deal, definitely nothing to worry about for this trip. Got to my friend Matt’s place, in the middle of a jazz festival right outside his place. Now thats quality. Went and got some pretty respectable Thai food down the street, and for a very reasonable price. Didn’t have to get in a car or anything like that. Thats what a city should be.Just got back from a crazy groceries run. We’ll still have to pick up more things at Costco tomorrow on the way out to the Burning Man, but it shouldn’t be bad at all. Mostly snacks and water at this point. Here’s to the wireless internet being set up at the Burning Man when we get there. Otherwise, with no cell phone AND no internet, I may very well go crazy. Or more likely than not I’ll just go wandering and check out shit like this:http://www.oz.net/~geoffsi/bm2002-days/bm2002-TOJ.htm
