So yea, haven’t posted in a while. Thats ok, because um, well, it just is. Besides, most people just simply don’t update that much =)Haven’t been up to much lately. Been mostly studying and working during the week, and relaxing and doing nothing on the weekends =P Its not the most exciting thing, but its sufficient I suppose. Gives me time to work through my Simpsons Season 3 set too. Down to the last season of Babylon 5 now. Its a really good series honestly, better than TNG or DS9 even. You can’t beat a well written story, its that simple.So Oddpost was recently bought out by Yahoo! (http://www.oddpost.com/yahoo.html). Thats actually a really bad thing from my view. I signed up for Oddpost so that I could stay away from the bigger webmail providers, and get a better feature set than is available anywhere else. The main thing is IMAP access, along with the spiffy web UI. At least I’ll have some time on the new Yahoo! webmail for free with my subscription. If it turns into what Oddpost is today, I suppose I can deal with paying for it. Gmail is kinda nice though, and free =)The Democratic Convention was last week. A bunch of great speeches from who are hopefully going to be the next party in power.Doom 3 came out a bit early. Even though it isn’t due out until 8/3, its out everywhere already =P Haven’t installed it yet, but it should be super awesome. The gameplay will probably not match up with Far Cry, but I’d love to be surprised. At very least it’ll look decently nice on my 9700 Pro. Went to the nice sushi place in town. Wasn’t too bad at all, but was kind of expensive. Worth the price though, in all honesty. The sashimi was really fresh and tasty. The sake was ok too, haha. Spent some time last afternoon trying to find something to watch at a friend’s place. He’s got full cable tv, (no premium channels) but we still couldn’t find anything interesting to waste our time on. Its a sad state when you have to pay for shit you don’t want to watch.For all you movie buffs out there, ffdshow has updated for a newer version, first time in ages. Media Player Classic is a great compliment to ffdshow, as it does a bunch of audio decoding, along with subtitles, automatically. Even plays DVDs, who needs PowerDVD or WinDVD anymore. Free stuff rocks.Just got a copy of the movie Super Size Me (http://www.supersizeme.com/). It should be an interesting movie….a documentary of one person’s change in diet, in this case to McDonald’s exclusively. Didn’t do wonders for his health. Why am I not surprised?Watched some Last Comic Standing. My favorite one on there, Jay London, managed to get himself back on the show via the wildcard show. He does one liners exclusively, and by consequence has some hits and misses. When he does nail it though, its fucking hilarious. It helps that he looks like a caveman that has escaped from a museum too =)Sadly, right now thats the best show currently on right now. The Casino show on Fox is starting to get kinda stale, and the American Casino show on Discovery is just sad right now. Method and Red is sometimes amusing, but more often than not it isn’t really hilarious.Just about three and a half weeks until vacation. Should be good times, hehe.
