So haven’t posted in a bit, away I go…So saw Shrek 2 the first week it was out. Work paid for it, so I didn’t mind =P It was ridiculously funny. I’m surprised it was aimed towards children, with so many references to things only late teens to adults would know. Regardless, it was good times.Went back to Charlotte to see Kevin’s graduation from NCSSM. Pictures are available here: http://kyle.rewq.org/gallery/kevinsgraduationLost my luggage on the way, its like clockwork. Its all Chicago’s fault =) Saw Dr. Miller and Dr. Teague while I was there. Not surprised they didn’t remember me since I didn’t cause too much trouble back in those days
Otherwise, was as boring as my graduation. The speaker was pretty lame too. Beats Tom Ridge though (CMU 2002). Graduate boy is currently out in Hong Kong for the summer. Hopefully he won’t use up all my server’s space hosting his pictures. He should throw down for some more space ^_~Played with his Sony Clie TJ37. Its a sweet little PDA. Too bad Sony is pulling out of the PDA market except for Japan. They really do make some pretty sweet hardware.Met up with Brian (http://www.livejournal.com/users/astriarch) for lunch the day before I left. That man got married just a few weekends prior. Its crazy seeing folks I’ve known for a fair part of my life getting married. Makes me feel old almost.Came back to Austin through Denver. Had a well delayed flight so my luggage had plenty of time to make sure it made it on-board. Typically busy week at work. Got sick with a pretty serious cold on Thursday so took the day off. Still coughing my way through the tail end of the bug. At least Nyquil is lots of fun, hahaha.Finished reading the LOTR trilogy finally. Considering how off movies typically are, the movie edition stayed relatively true. Regardless, I’d recommend any fans of the movies should check out the book edition as well. As in virtually all cases, the book is better than the Hollywood interpretation.Updated to KDE 3.2 on my laptop. Its assloads faster than 3.1 was, nearly as fast as Xfce, which is no small feat. I’m seriously impressed. No loss in functionality either, just fixed code it seems.Got UT2004 finally. Its lots of fun =) Much nicer than the demo version too. If more games were like this, my library might be larger….Started replaying Medieval Total War again. Now that is an awesome strategy game. Nothing beats that squish when your calvary runs through some foot soldiers.
