Where the hell did you go?

Eh, I got distracted by this thing called the real world. No, not really, but sure, lets pretend thats the case.Nothing too noteworthy that I recall from the last weekends…mostly just running errands and relaxing as much as possible. Long weekend is coming up, so the relaxing and slacking off will continue for some time =)Got myself a copy of Animal Farm, 1984, and the LOTR trilogy along with the Hobbit. Figure I might as well start reading books again since I have some spare time on my hands. That and magazines tend to run out of information thats interesting within a week or so after their arrival. Its been decently cold the last few days here in Austin…40ish at night. Its pretty funny watching the natives run around in coats thicker than what I wear when I go snoboarding, when its only 50ish with wind chill. Talk about overdressed. That little black cat that seems to hang out near my car is there almost daily now. I guess it identifies with my car…..or it reeks of fish or something. Its definitely strange, a decent way to wake up. The cat’s got tags, so bleh. That and if the apartment nazis found out, I’d probably get taxed like a motherfucker for the cat. I’ll have to wait until I go to a less professionally managed (aka anal) apartment before I look at getting a cat….Slow as hell at work, which is sweet. I can deal with this. The Simpsons Hit and Run game rocks. You have to play it if you’re a Simpsons fan of any degree. It references thing in the show left and right, and you get to explore the entire town of Springfield. It just rocks =)Going to Houston in a few days to hang out with some friends. Probably will end up chilling here for Thanksgiving. Turkey is overrated anyways ;-)

Strange, this seems like Pittsburgh…

So for the last week, its been overcast and 50 or so degrees here in the morning. Disturbingly like Pittsburgh most of the year =PLast two weekends have been moderately interesting. Last Friday, thought about going to see Chris Fortier until I found out the spot the party was happening was some smallass bar, with hardly any room. Screw that, so I just hung out and drank some. Saturday, went downtown and rediscovered how expensive it can be to go downtown and party. Eh, it was ok, but damn, talk about a surcharge =PWeek at work was boring. Same as usual basically. Nothing much will happen until after Xmas, if then…Went to see Marco Carola on Friday. Fucking lots of fun. Fourth time I’ve seen him, and he still kicks ass. Unfortunately, I think I’ve seen DJ Micro more times (due to him being somehow really popular up North) but Marco is starting to catch up. Unfortunately, the party had to end around 2am…..or did it =) Marco came back up and kept spinning for another hour and a half. He kicks ass =)Chilled yesterday, and just ran errands today. On a side note, the last two Simpsons episodes have been mediocre. Nothing too much to get excited about, but its good to have fresh shows to watch. Same with South Park. TV really does suck nowadays…But Conan O’Brien still kicks ass. Specifically Triumph the Comic Insult Dog kicks ass. He fucked around with some American Idol contestants recently, here’s the two segments that were broadcast last week: http://downloads.rewq.org/truimph_american_idol/

All hail the mighty US Patent Office

An 8 year old kid was granted this patent in April 2002:Method of swinging on a swing (US Patent Number 6,368,227)Don’t believe me? Here’s the link to the USPTO search engine: http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/search-bool.htmlSearch for the patent number. Be amazed at the competence of the patent examiners. Awe at the fact that the kid’s dad is a lawyer and filed it.
