Bleh
So I\\’m procrastinating on packing some more by typing this in =)I\\’ll be heading off to Vancouver B.C. until the 31st. Going up to spend time with the family and eat lots of good food. I\\’ll be getting back hopefully not too late so that I can get in on some New Year\\’s Eve festivities with some folks here. Of course, with the wonders of modern aviation, I\\’m sure to be delayed.Gave my apartment a much needed cleaning today. Its a lot neater now, with all the bills paid and so forth ^^The last two days of slacking off while pretty much everyone else I knew was at work was a great feeling. I should do it more often. Bad news about tomorrow….I\\’m getting to see LOTR: The Two Towers tomorrow at 10:30am. Unfortunately, my flight is at 3pm, and it takes about an hour to get to the airport. Since the new LOTR is three hours long, it\\’ll give me exactly an hour and a half to get my ass to the airport…assuming there aren\\’t any previews. There will be. So I\\’ll be stuck with watching everything but the last 20-30 minutes of the movie. Doh. Maybe I\\’ll catch it in Vancouver, just to finish it off. Why am I going tomorrow? Because its free for me ^^ Too bad there aren\\’t any earlier showings during the day. I\\’m not crazy enough to stay up for a midnight show. Laziness rules.Happy holidays and so forth. That was disgusting!
Fear Factor on NBC is fucking disgusting. Its ridiculously disgusting. So disgusting I’ll have to watch more =)Had the day off today. Used it for no good ends. I just sat around all day and chilled out. Mostly watched movies and listened to music. Cleaned up my place some, thats about it.Went out over the weekend. Friday was mostly just hanging out. Saturday night was interesting to say the least. Went downtown and partied some. That was good.Found a good sushi place on Saturday. Its really convenient to my place too. Its good stuff, I liked it.Going to Canada in two days, I guess I should pack sometime.I just realized on Wednesday, I’ll miss the last 30-45 minutes of LOTR: The Two Towers, because of my flight. Argh!! That means I’ll have to go make it appear on my hard drive when I get back =)I guess I should take care of these bills…hrmmHopefully tomorrow things will get done.

And so time keeps marching on
Been decently busy all week. Catching up on the stuff from last week, when I was in Pittsburgh, ate up a good day or two. But that was worth it. Pittsburgh was pretty fun. Got to see a bunch of the old gang and hang out for a bit.Mostly did the normal work/gym/eat/sleep routine most of the week. I was going to go see Sandra Collins for the third or fourth time. Problem was, the club was being anal about dress code. I’m not going to go to a party (albiet a club one) in slacks! I like my UFO pants. They’re comfy.Hung out with Jamal last night and had some fun. He’s getting married unfortunately….another one lost to the dark side =) But I’ve got one and a half weeks left to turn him back!Threw in some more hard drive space onto my Linux server. That thing just keeps growing in size. Its great. Cancelled cable while I was at it. I couldn’t justify the $50/month (after tax) that they wanted just for some television. Most of the stuff I watch is on broadcast television anyways. The ironic thing was that when I was trying to cancel, the customer representative tried to tell me cable would come in clearer than broadcast TV in my area. While he was giving me his little precooked message, I was watching Fox in higher clarity than what Time Warner could offer. I mentioned this, and he said \”Oh, that must be a fluke\”. No, its because your company turned up the compression. Those assholes need to figure out that quality is important. Video artifacts from compression suck. You probaby can’t tell on a typical run of the mill tv, but I’m watching on a computer monitor. That just highlights the imperfections in any video stream. Just because they can increase the MPEG2 compression on the video stream doesn’t mean that they should! I’m going DirectTV if I ever get cable/satellite service again. Their video streams are just cleaner.

last few hours…
So yesterday, Michi had to go do some work, so I hung out with Chacko and Gaku most of the day. Michi wanted to start around noon, but then Bert gave us a call and asked if we wanted to get together and eat at Spice Island. Its a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that has really good fried rice. Michi gave in and came with us to eat, and she liked it I think =)Spent most of the day playing video games and getting incense at Teleropa in Oakland. Michi finally remembered about dinner around 8pm, so we ordered pizza. Gaku and I ran to the airport to pick up one of his friends; he didn’t know the way by himself. It was snowing pretty hard at that point, so we had to be pretty careful.All well, have to pack and go home soon. At least it was a fun week…
